SIERRA SAN JOAQUIN JOBS FIRST (S2J2)

In spring of 2024, the Sierra San Joaquin Jobs First (S2J2) initiative brought together 100s of partners to develop a dynamic regional investment plan for the entire S2J2 region. The initiative was tasked with developing a plan that fosters an inclusive, resilient, and sustainable economy, offering quality jobs and equitable economic access for all residents in the Sierra San Joaquin Region.

As partners in the initiative, we provided support by:

• Leading the Education and Skill Building Workgroup, bringing together over 100 representatives from education, the community, workforce development organizations, and labor groups, through an inclusive design sprint.

​

• We synthesized key insights into a chapter on education and workforce development for the overall investment plan. This chapter defines the challenges, outlines investment strategies and funding needs, identifies key stakeholders, highlights barriers, and presents a clear path forward.
